What would you do next in your business if you knew you wouldn’t fail?

Over the last 10 months I have conducted a research study about the role that limiting beliefs play in our business growth with the sharp ladies of Female Founders Talk Shop. We polled a statistically-significant number of women about the beliefs they hold that keep them from taking big action in their businesses. (“Statistically significant” means that we can apply the results of the research to a broader number of people and assume that these beliefs are true for most women.) You’ll see yourself in these results…

The top 5 limiting beliefs we saw in our data include:

  1. If I haven’t put in the time, I’m not going to get the return.

  2. There just isn’t enough time in the day/week.

  3. I have never built a business bigger than the size I am now.

  4. I am afraid to raise outside capital to fund my business growth.

  5. I am the only person in my business who can do important tasks the right way.

Our research also shows the more a woman believes these things, the lower her business revenue. Take a look at the white paper here. You’ll see we asked women what steps they would take if they knew they would not fail. These smart women know what to do but are fearful and lack confidence. So what can we do?

Beginning on page 16, we outline specific things anyone can do to overcome these beliefs. (Men, we know these beliefs are common for you too even though you weren’t the focus of this research.)

If you see yourself in these results, please take a look at our recommendations for further action. Joining a community of #goodhumans who will help you take big action instead of baby steps is one of our suggestions. Don’t let your limiting beliefs keep you from achieving your dreams.
